Lödige in the UK have been involved in this project from the very beginning and have worked with the Architect and Planner to ensure the Goods Lifts were designed correctly and accurately. There was headroom and pit issues in this building so the suitable product to use was the Escorta Goods Lift with Attendant which comes with a free standing fully inclusive lift shaft. Having worked with Lödige on many occasions, the end client was confident that the correct product was being installed. This Escorta can move 3,000kg at a time along with a trained attendant over 5.5 meters. There is no requirement for a machine room or lift pit which saved a considerable amount of money and builder’s time. The total install time for both of these 3 stop goods lifts was just under 3 weeks including commissioning. The customer on this project is a returning customer to Lödige.
A free-standing goods lift or goods lift with attendant is a cost efficient and space saving alternative for supermarkets and retail stores opposed to using a traditional hydraulic lift. The Sherpa and Escorta products have been designed to save space for the end user and simplify the lifting process. With more than 1400 lifts installed across the UK there are plenty of reference sites to visit and happy customers to speak to. The Escorta is a goods lift with trained attendant whereas the Sherpa is a goods only lift. Both products are designed and manufactured in house in the Lödige Industries factory in Warburg, Germany by experienced engineers.
